Youth Empowerment Program
NYSYLC’s Youth Empowerment Program (YEP) is a summer collective learning space for immigrant youth regardless of their immigration status, where participants, program organizers, and guest speakers engage in in-depth discussions to explore the intersections of systems of oppression, such as patriarchy, white supremacy, and racism. Through lively discussions and group activities, participants will become active in their personal, intellectual, and communal growth.
We encourage undocumented migrant youth of color to apply. YEP is a free program. The workshop content will be presented in intermediate and high intermediate ELL levels. Workshops are mostly virtual, but some in-person workshops and trips will be available those who are comfortable and able to attend.
2021 Applications closed on July 16th, 2021.
