The NYSYLC and Teach Dream are proud to announce our unification! In 2013, the NYSYLC began collaborating with Teach Dream, a group of educators dedicated to supporting non-citizen students that was then a working group of the New York Collective of Radical Educators. Over the past 7 years, that collaboration has blossomed into a network of educators working to support their immigrant students and families by centering the leadership of those in the directly-impacted community. Working together, Teach Dream and the NYSYLC have provided workshops for educators, hosted conferences for youth and family, and raised funds for scholarships for undocumented students. By formalizing our merger, Teach Dream and the NYSYLC will expand our collaborative work to support our students, their families, and organize with educators seeking to do the same. Connect with us at the link below if you are interested in hearing more about the group and how to support students in your school!
