IYECon is back again! The annual Immigrant Youth Empowerment Conference (IYECon) is an all day conference which aims to provide resources and tools to all youths and their families, regardless of their immigration status to be empowered and organize within their communities.

Our theme for this year’s conference, "Rooted in Liberation", connects us to our migration history, the policies that forced many of us to come here or made it harder to seek a path to citizen, but also we hope to continue building towards our joint liberation.

This conference is put together by many grassroots immigrant organizations. The conference will bring together hundreds of youth, family members, and educators to meet with high school and college students, community organizers, lawyers, and professional development leaders. IYECon will include workshops for undocumented youth, about the college process, alternatives to college, as well as creative ways to organize in one’s own community within academic spaces and on the street.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Child care and translation will be provided as well.

We invite you to share this event to anyone whom you think will benefit from this conference. We will be sharing resources, building community, and engaging in conversations on the role that higher education plays in overall community advancement and organizing. We hope to see you there! If you have any questions email us at Follow us on twitter @IYE_Con and help us spread the word! #IYECon2017
