Sexual Assault Awareness Month:Rising Up Against Sexual Violence


In partnership with Atlas:DIY, The Healing Center, Center for Anti-Violence Education (CAE) and BYP 100 we're coming together for a series of events to shed light on the impact of sexual violence, how it intersects with our communities and all the ways YOU can join to end it. 

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month and our communities are coming together to uplift our voices and rise up against sexual violence. Sexual violence impacts individuals and communities every single day across the world. We are rising in solidarity and affirming our commitment that we want to see and live in a world free of violence. We invite you and your loved ones to join us in shaping this vision into a reality. 

LIST OF EVENTS:

Saturday, April 22nd: The Healing Center is hosting its annual NYC Teen Dating Violence Awareness Walk-A-Thon. We'll be joining and walking alongside our community from The Healing Center. Please join us! 

Location and Time: 9:00am at the Korean War Vets Plaza, where the walk-a-thon will begin!

Monday, April 24th: We're hosting a screening of No Le Digas a Nadie - Don't Tell Anyone and community discussion on the intersections between immigration and sexual violence with our Co-Director, Angy Rivera. 

Location and Time: 5:00pm- Atlas office (462 36th Street, PHB, Brooklyn, NY 11232)

Friday, April 28th: Take Back the Night Rally! 
To culminate our month of action we will be hosting a Take Back the Night Rally, with a march and Speak Out. Join us for a night of story sharing, poetry and more! We'll be holding space for survivors and victims of sexual assault. ALL are welcome to join. 

Location and Time: 4:00pm- Starting at Atlas office, then marching, holding Speak Out in Sunset Park, and ending at the Atlas office.
