What have we become in life? Is this really what we call life or a definition to a fairy tale that will end with a happily ever after? Is this the nightmare to a lost soul who is searching for the light to see in his darkness hour? Is this the journey our troops are fighting for, dying for, everyday just for their land to repeat history? What are we fighting for then?
People say we can’t make a difference in life, the law is the law. If this was true we would still have Hitler choosing his kind among the rest. We the people would never make it through his eyes. We wouldn’t have had brave people like Rosa Parks sitting for miles on a bus. We would still have slaves for sale. We wouldn’t have Cesar Chavez to thank for “Making a solemn promise: to enjoy our rightful part of the riches of this land, to throw off the yoke of being considered as agricultural implements or slaves. We are free men and we demand justice.”
We wouldn’t be able to shop in the same stores as white people. We have changed society for the best to come and people don’t see that history is repeating itself. Above all we wouldn’t have Obama as the president of the United States. Women wouldn’t have a chance to vote.
So you tell me if there’s nothing we can do. Because of courageous people who see the world different, protest and take a stand knowing they would go to jail or worse, get caught up in death.
We should all really take a minute to realize what and where the world is headed to. Some tell me we can’t make a difference and let history repeat itself.
Or can we make history ourselves and change the world.
