ANNOUNCEMENTS
The New York State Youth Leadership Council stands in solidarity with Palestine. As an immigrant rights organization, we believe in the mobility and fight for liberation, freedom, and self-determination of Palestinian people.
We sat in conversation and answered questions about our roles as community educators.
How We Create Change
Grassroots Organizing
We build the power of undocumented youth in NYC through our Organizing Team and Dream Team Network. Dream Teams are advocacy hubs led by undocumented students, based in high schools and colleges. We also build power through grassroots fundraising.
Art & Self-Expression
We create spaces and opportunities to express ourselves creatively and build community. These spaces include workshops on creative writing, dance, support group, and photography.
Leadership Development
Undocumented youth lead and run all of our programs, learn to organize our communities, and lead campaigns. Through political education, we deepen our members’ ability to recognize, analyze, and challenge systems of oppression.
Educational Advancement
We support undocumented students with pursuing higher education, and advocate to increase access to higher education. We partner with school and college educators to create safe and equitable learning environments for undocumented students.
