On June 23rd, 500 Dreamers from all over the country came to Washington, DC and brought their message of hope, education and service to our country to the offices of their congressional representatives. This time, as we are getting ready to go back to school, we are organizing the country to let everyone know that we must eliminate the barriers of education for undocumented students.

The "Orgullo Latino" Club at Raritan Valley Community College (Somerville, NJ) was not able to set up a table on Sept. 23 or do any activities on that day. But on Tuesday, October 13th we had "Dream Act 2009 Day" and we collected over 300 petitions and over 100 cards to mail to our NJ Senators. Our students had T-Shirts made up which read "WE HAVE A DREAM!" It was quite successful and we will plan another Dream Act Day before the year is over. Let's keep the dream alive! Eva Fontanez, Advisor of Orgullo Latino.
